Carrero was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Drexel University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business; Temple University School of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree; and the University of Miami School of Law on a scholarship, where he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Ocean and Coastal Management. Carrero has passed the bar in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida. Before starting his own firm, Carrero worked in the private sector as a transactional attorney and then as a trial attorney, both for Philadelphia law firms and while also serving as a certified Arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. He eventually became the Managing Associate of a Philadelphia law firm before opening his own firm and moving to Florida.
Carrero is and has been involved in several social and charitable organizations, including MENSA, local and state Bar organizations, the Humane Society (former regional coordinator), and the Sons of Italy (as an elected officer). He lives in Florida with his wife, three kids and their two Mini-Schnauzers.
